Column Filtering

We would like to be able to filter entries at the column level vs. filtering on all columns like it does now.  So for example, if I have 1000 native accounts and I want to filter on the accounts where the full name contains "Smith", then I can filter only on that column and not include any other columns that contain "Smith", like the account name or group name, etc, etc.  A feature much like what MS Excel provides when you filter on columns.
