Folder upkeep during account management
I understand that Cerberus creates the accounts folders at first login, but it makes our workflow quite awkward. This can be done via the web interface but it requires us to login to the server and create the folder manually in order to complete our setup tasks.
Basically our use case is this -
client account is created, then we manually have to create the folder.
we can then setup internal user accounts that have access to that folder created for the client. if we don't create the client account manually then we can't finish the setup of the internal user. which means flipping from web, to server to web. again... awkward.
it would be great if the system would automatically create the folder for the user (like our old system did) upon creation of the account.
inversely on the deleting an account process - our old system would prompt the admin with options to delete the account only OR delete the account and the folders assigned to the account. this would be wonderful to have as an option because again... web interface to delete the account, then you have to remote into the server to delete the physical folders once owned by that account. as an added bonus our old system would also give you the total of files and folders under that accounts "home directly" during the deletion prompt so you can see if there is a ton of data or that folder structure was empty. that helped to quickly say... yes go ahead and delete both or better check that folder to see if data needs saved before deleting.

Hello James,
Cerberus does create folders automatically when a user logs in, but they will need to have 'Simple Directory Mode' enabled within their virtual directories. You can add this functionality onto a virtual directory by adding a %USER% variable. So if you have C:\FTPROOT\Test\%User% as a virtual directory, and with simple directory mode enabled, that user will log in to a folder that Cerberus creates for them. This works in both the web client, and through client based logins (and other protocols) as well.
As for the deletion workflow you have there, I do think that is a good enhancement, so I will go ahead and get this summarized and sent over to our Product team for review. If we need any other information, we will reach out here, or through a ticket. Thanks so much for taking the time to submit this!

yes i agree that it does create it. but only after a user logs in. i need the folder created at time of account creation, without the need to actually use the account first.
