Restrict SubFolder Permissions
Dear support team,
I have more and more request by users to setup a folder structure and then restrict permissions to users to different folders inside this structure.
Currently the only possibility is to assign each individual folder inside this root folder to each cerberus user and not just managing permissions inheritance to disable certain permissions from the root folder not to propagate to the subfolders.
An example would be:
Root
Subfolder1
SubFolder1.1
Subfolder1.2
Subfolder2
Subfolder2.1
Subfolder2.2
User1 have permissions on the root, can Download and Upload on subfolder1.1, can only download on subfolder1.2, can list contents in Subfolder 2.2, cannot list contents of subfolder2.1.
Something like that, hopefully my example is clear if not just let me know.
Thank you.
Regards,
Eduardo R.

hello,
It should be great if we could do the following using the Cerberus native users :- Assign different access to subfolders of a virtual directory.
- Have the ability to add separated rights on files and folders. Right now, if you give a delete right on a virtual directory, the user can delete files as well as folders… this is absolutely not a good idea because a user can remove all the directory structure within a virtual directory.
An example of our Gene6FTP server is allowed to do :We bought Cerberus Server for SFTP service but without this enhancement, our Cerberus server is quite unusable with our user’s permissions.
Thanks in advance.

I agree it would be a huge enhancement to separate the "delete" permission for files and folders/directories.
