Public Share link notifcation | Daily Digest
Public Share Daily Digest Notification
Requesting that a new Public Share notification "Daily Digest" option be added.
- What is the problem that this feature would fix?
The notification options currently available are:
- No Notifications
- On first access
- On interval (Every 5 minutes)
- On every access
The "On interval" option batches the notifications and if applicable sends the notification of activity every 5 minutes.
This requested notification would add another option that would batch all the notifications (similar to the On interval notification option) and send once a day which would cut down on email notifications to creators of Public Share links.
- Why is it a problem?
The current options are useful but limited in scope.
- No Notifications <- the default notification option
- On first access <- not really useful unless verifying that a link is functional
- On interval (Every 5 minutes) <- this is typically the recommended option due to the batching nature of the notification
- On every access <- this can be overwhelming for Public Share links that have a lot of activity
- Is there a workaround you currently have for this problem?
If the "On interval" option still produces more notifications in a day than a user wants to receive they have recreated the Public Share link and set the notification to "No Notifications" and then they instruct the people who leverage the Public Share to send them an email when they upload a file which still means they may get multiple notifications a day.
- Do you have a suggestion on how you would like to see the problem fixed?
Leverage the existing "On interval" notification batch functionality and update it from a 5 minute period to a 24 hour period and give more flexibility of the tool to end users.
- How big is the problem? Who is affected by this problem (End Users, Admins, etc.)?
This applies to all users of the application who create Public Share links and need to have some level of notification.
