More Granular Event Rules
Hi!
This is a feature addition suggestion. The ability to group event actions into groups and apply more granular 'if this then that' rules. For example, we have an event that is setup to run as follows:
- Receive files from server
- Send files from Cerberus server to third party
- If send fails, send an email to the local admin
However, sometimes this fails due to connectivity and the files get synced/removed and never resent as the event is triggered on the files landing on the Cerberus server. If we could have groups of actions that could be applied as failure actions or more granular 'if this then that', then this would become really powerful. For example:
- Receive files from server
- Send files from Cerberus server to third party
- If send fails: (a) send an email to the local admin. (b) wait 60 seconds. (c) Attempt resend.
- If the resend fails, attempt the above action twice more before failure.
Or, alternatively, maybe instead of the default ‘Stop on failure’ tick box within an action, you could also provide a ‘Stop on Success’ tick box. This would a allow successful action to stop at that point, but a failure could then move on to process multiple further actions that could be built up below!
Hope you guys see the value in this.
