Event rule retry

Have the ability for event rules to retry to send data over sftp if the initial connection fails rather than proceeding immediately to the failure action or next action in the event rule.

  • What is the problem that this feature would fix? 
  • Why is it a problem?
  • Is there a workaround you currently have for this problem? 
  • Do you have a suggestion on how you would like to see the problem fixed?
  • How big is the problem? Who is affected by this problem (End Users, Admins, etc.)?

  Hi Connor,

  • What is the problem that this feature would fix? If there is a sftp transfer event action and it fails to connect the entire process fails at that point.
  • Why is it a problem? we have files that are sent nightly to a partner company that have contract obligations with penalties etc if missed
  • Is there a workaround you currently have for this problem? The only workaround at the moment is manually transmitting the files using winscp or similar client.
  • Do you have a suggestion on how you would like to see the problem fixed? The ability for events to have a retry or multiple retries if a connection fails to connect eg connection times out on connecting
  • How big is the problem? Who is affected by this problem (End Users, Admins, etc.)? It affects the entire business but admins are the ones who then have to monitor and manually move the files at 11pm at night when the failure happens.

  Hello Liam,

  I just wanted to update you, my engineering came back and informed me that this will be revisted in the second half of 2026 due to the amount of work involved in getting this feature into a release. If we get further updates to share, we will be sure to do so!
